*.* Mission to Mambang Diawan, Perak taught alot... *.*
Hey hey! Yeps, finally got down to write some stuff in the blog. Heh... so sorry i took so long to blog my trip stuff down and to write things here... am not really an online person. kk, anyway, JOYCE! great that you remembered what you learned!! :) haha... hate the darkness is correct; to move away from 'unholy' stuff and dun do things that would displease God.. well done joyce!
kk, back to the point at hand. Yes, mission trip was form 12/5 to 16/5. Obviously i'm quite slow in blogging it down =p hopefully i can remember the details heh... k, this is the first trip i went without an adult! super scary! that means the oldest - another server (esther) and me - gotta be i/c of taking care of 3 other younger boys (aaron, shao wei n euclid frm a methodist church). weird rite? but throughout the planning stages, we all really learned to be super focused as we only had less than a week to prepare bible study materials/sermons/worship/programs all in chinese! And the journey to Perak also!! oh man, we were so scared when the bus just stop at KL for no gd reason for 45min, which got us really worried. Then later the bus driver just dropped us along the streets of Kampar(the town near mambang diawan), in the middle of NOWHERE! but thank GOD the evangelist tt's suppose to fetch us (chuan dao) knew where we were and picked us up 15min later. phew! but the waiting for him part was very very scaryy, coz we're standing outside the bank to wait, and this security guard kept looking at us. we think that he's worried we'll rob the bank or smthing.. hee..
After finally getting back to the church in Mambang Diawan (MB for short) at abt 6.30pm, chuan dao told us that there's a cell grp tonight and gotta lead worship and sharing the word!! wah sey.... we were so unprepared lah... but this was where we grew in spiritual maturity - trusting God would get us through every obstacle (during prep and travelling) and also to be EVER READY TO SERVE HIM (cell group). Just the first day and God already had all these in mind for us to experience and learn. heh.. Thank God chuan dao allowed us to lead worship only, no need to share the word.. another phew... =p but as we stay there and led a few bible study session (yes, in chinese!!), not only did our language skills improved, we gained alot of insights in the way the youths there think and their culture. also, we were super encouraged by the faith the youths there! just hearing their testimonies of what Jesus had done and is still doing in their lives really affirms you once again that JESUS is REAL! very very encouraging just seeing them loving God so intimately. also, every worship session they had for their whole lives comprise of a guitar and a super ancient organ, nothing else. tt's y i guess i could really worship tt sunday where june was leading with only a guitar and a keyboard. :) really, learn how to truly worship GOD without much music aid, and really to sense HIS presence around you and knowing that He's your guide, your protector and your leader.
Yeps, all in all this trip was a very great learning experience. Many challenges but we kept praying (eh, prayer is the most powerful thing in missions... serious...) and reminding ourselves that God is control and we really gotta trust in HIM. True enough, God revealed so many lessons He wanted us to learn and also burdened us to be with these youths and to grow with them in spiritual maturity. Not sure if u would interpretate 'burden' correctly... i dun mean that it's a terrible suffering that we feel agonized and frustrated when God called us to be with them... rather, it's like a 'joyful suffering' in doing what God has called us to do. haha, abit of oxymoron =p kk, not sure if this is too chim for some of ya but yeps.... just equate the 'burden' here with 'willing and joyful suffering'.. haha...
Really hope that everyone of you can go for at least a mission trip while you're still in youth. even if it's local missions, it's still missions! :) actually, wherever you go, the mission field is around you. it's just whether you wanna live each day as a mission or not. ;) heh, gotta admit it's very difficult, but i'm very very certain that GOD has smthing for you as you really set aside some time in future to go on a mission trip! yeps, that's all.. :) wonderfully long.. haha, hope u're not sleeping on ur keyboard by now... okie, see y'all in church on sunday!
God Bless the piggy cell!
